Thoughtful. Memorable. Real

Stories are proven to get peoples attention.
At feat1stfilms we create visual stories the draw the viewer in and engage.

NEA Fellow: Dan Ansotegui

This mini documentary pays tribute to National Endowment For The Arts Fellow Dan Ansotegui and his unique position as a tradition bearer of the Basque community in Boise Idaho.
Location Location Location!
Gaining access to the
entirety of the Basque Block during it's annual San Inazio Festival gives this profile film a rich sense of culture and Dan's place in it.

Kettle River Railroad Bridge

Built in 1894, this railroad bridge spans the Kettle River in Sandstone, Minnesota.
At feat1stfilms we  tell stories with tools that can best provide unique perspectives.
We are certified UAV (unmanned aircraft systems) operators with hours of flight experience.   In order to use the awesome images these "drones" can provide, a production company needs to be licensed... and we have the goods.

Limestone & Felt

Dedicated to performing music of living composers, Boise's own 208 Ensemble performed Caroline Shaw's "Limestone & Felt" in a collaboration with members of the Boise dance company, Project Flux.

This story was discovered in the editing.
Syncing five different cameras and three performances to a master track of the music helped capture the spontaneity and energy of this collaborative  performance.

Emotions. Values. Ideas

Stories told simply... down to earth and relatable.

Insurance Network America Summit in Boise Idaho

Boise based, Insurance Network America is committed to their agents, hosting an annual conference that is second to none.

Capturing interviews that tell the story of your brand is easy to do when people are knowledgeable about and love what they do.
We take pride in creating working relationships that allow our subjects to just relax and be themselves.

Boise In Full Flight: Expanding Travel Opportunities

Every year the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce produces a year end video for their annual gala. This segment highlights the chambers work on behalf of the regions "young professionals".

We love to be able to take a brand and fully explore the variety of stories that make up the whole.
Six short videos individually, and as a whole, are a window into the soul of this association of businesses.

Dave & Jock

As part of the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program, sponsored by The Idaho Commission On The Arts,  master artists share skills and knowledge to perpetuate a valued community tradition.
Documentary shorts or mini-docs are a great way to highlight the mission/story of a non-profit organization or business.
Our curiosity and love of people inform everything we do.
Spending the day with Dave and Jock was a joy and yes...lunch included a round of beers.

Inspire. Inform. Engage

Stories that speak honestly  to your community.

The “Get Out The Vote” Tour! Medicaid Expansion For Idaho

Last year we were contacted by The Fairness Project to do some work on behalf of Reclaim Idaho.
We had the honor of touring Idaho in a green RV. From Boise, Idaho to McCall, Idaho, Grangeville, Idaho to Lewiston, Idaho, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to Sandpoint, Idaho.
Watching the dedication and hard work of the folks behind Prop 2 was truly an inspiration.
In a bipartisan effort, over 60% of idaho voters voted YES on an initiative that will benefit countless Idahoans.

Building A Trail in Garden Valley

The Garden Valley Mountian bike team needed a place to practice skills and train...they took matters into their own hands.
Part of a larger series of videos produce for the non-profit Idaho International Cycling Association (IICA), this video introduces you to the Garden Valley Wolverines.
Ostensibly, their  story is about building trails near their rural school, but it also shares a story of a community of high school mountian bike teams that is welcoming and inclusive.

Festival of India

This Boise temple is
an important resource for Boiseans
to learn about Vedic culture
and the wealth of spiritual knowledge
that India has to offer.
This video uses impressionistic imagery and title cards to introduce you to a new world.
We tell the story thru dynamic camera movement and intimate angles.
